SWOSC-V SWOSC-B Oil tempered Spring Wire is oil tempered to form a tempered martensitic microstructure having a high strength and a high yielding point for use. SWOSC-V SWOSC-B Oil tempered Spring Wire, by tempering at a high temperature, the yield point and the elasticity limit can be enhanced, and the steel becomes excellent in the fatigue property, the resistance for height reduction of the coil spring, and the toughness also increases. Presently, SWOSC-V SWOSC-B oil tempered spring steel wire is widely used in valve springs and other machine springs requiring high fatigue properties and good relaxation properties at moderately increased working temperatures..

Hot forming and heat treatment:
- Hot rolling: 1050-850℃
- Hot forming to spring: 940-840℃
- Normalising: 850-880℃/air
- Soft annealing: 640-680℃/furnace
- Hardening: min.840℃/oil
- Tempering: 375-500℃/air
Mechanical properties:
Treated for cold shearability(+S): max.280 HB
Soft annealed (+A) : max.248 HB
Spheroidized annealed(+AC): max.230 HB
Application: SWOSC-V SWOSC-B Oil tempered Spring Wireis used for valve springs and other springs requiring high fatigue properties and good relaxation properties at moderately increased working temperatures.
